"L'Dor V'Dor"

“L’dor V’dor” is a commission by the Jewish Arts Collaborative and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA). To create this work I was paired with a piece of Judaica from the MFA's collection, Linda Threadgill’s “Garden of Lights,”. As I studied this contemporary Hanukkiah, I became fascinated with the idea of contemporary ritual objects. The choreography is inspired by the way in which ancient Jewish traditions evolve and change as they are passed down, allowing them to remain relevant, meaningful, and inclusive practices in our lives today.  “L’dor V’dor” was filmed by Olivia Moon Photography / halfasianlens at the scenic Gardens at Elm Bank.

Interview on this project

"Melting" was choreographed for the "10 Tiny Dances" Festival at the Dance Complex in 2019. Using a 4X4 stage, this choreography was created through researching the effects of global warming and melting ice caps on polar bears.

"Pieces of a Whole"

Presented at the North Carolina Dance Education Organization Conference in 2018. "Pieces of a Whole" was created through choreographic exercises used in creative movement workshops led at The Women's Lunch Place. The creative process behind this work plays with newspapers, current events, individual perspective and chance.
